January 9, 2008 "Beautiful Downtown Matlacha" celebrates all new work by Matlacha artist Marie Cahill. Marie will be demonstrating her painting style and signing her work.
Born in Salem, Mass, Marie Cahill studied art privately and has taught ceramics and painting for 25 years. She has exhibited her work in galleries and gift shops throughout Massachusetts and Florida. Her works are in numerous private collections from Colorado to Maine. Her murals can be seen at the Art Building in Matlacha, and at other locations in southwest Florida, and her shell creations, including mailboxes grace many homes in the area.
"Beautiful Downtown Matlacha" chronicles a disappearing vision of old Florida, and adds another highly collectible aspect to an already much-loved artist.
Bert's Pine Bay Gallery will host the event from 4-9PM. Refreshments will be served.

Nell McGuire, Cape Coral watercolor artist will be demonstrating and showing new work on Saturday. Refreshments will be served until 8PM.
